Biran
I recently joined a pickin’ circle, and the expectation for songs is that the player also sings. Do any of the lessons have accompanying words?
I am learning a lot from the lessons; keep up the good work.

Usually Brian doesn’t answer in the forum. For specific request you can send him a message through the contact form:
Anyway I can answer, and no, there aren’t lessons about songs with lyrics in the AM site. But in YouTube there are some old lessons about how to play a few famous songs, made by Brian many years ago, in a separate channel:

Here in AM there are only a few arrangements for standalone guitar of old classic folk/country music. It means they have also the singing melody on top played by the guitar.
My advice for your picking circle is to choice a song that you love and can sing (maybe one that’s not too difficult), find a tutorial on line about how to play it (usually in YouTube you can find tons of tutorials about famous songs).
Or just trying to learn a song by your self, maybe with the help of a chords chart: also in this case you usually can find the chords somewhere (When I was young I usually found out the chords by myself by ear, which is always the better option, but now I’ve become lazy 😅).

Hi Erik – I’ve never heard of a picking circle, but if it involved singing you could count me out. However, in the past I have written some words for a few of Brian’s lessons just for fun. I didn’t keep the lyrics, but if I – a renowned non-singer – can write some words, so can you. Sit down and collaborate with your partner or next door neighbor, if that would help. And then after you’ve done it, post the lyrics here on the forum. That’s what I should have done, but I didn’t think of it in time.
