Love this rendition John, a little twang and a little bluegrass thrown in there really spices it up. Happy Holidays Bud!

So nice to hear you play an acoustic, John. It feels like you’re right here in the room with me and I’m enjoying this whole showcase. Beautiful version of the classic, it somewhat made me recall a Beatles song in a few places, “In My Life”? Loved the twangy bass note bend, yeah!
I have never tried a Gibby, wonder how different it would feel from a Martin. They do have their own distinctive sounds, I can definitely hear the country twang here, it feels more like a singer songwriter guitar to me. I feel like they have a very balanced sound.
Merry Christmas!

Haha you also start to name your guitars!
I like that country style Silent Night version. Love the bass twang…that’s your thing.
Great sound from your acoustic “Gibby”.
Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Well done, John. It’s great how you’ve woven the melody into the chords. Really impressive. I’ve got a lot to learn from that.
Merry Christmas, Weerner

Lovely rendition of the very nice Brian’s arrangement John, very well played and sounds great on your Gibby with its warm, deep and rich sound (nothing can beat a good Gibby ๐ !)

Well played, John, you really know your way around an acoustic. Love that low F bend and the other bluegrass influences! I thought “Gibby” was going to be the Les Paul. I see Denise is rubbing off on us, I was just wondering what I would name my blue strat.

Whoโs Gibby and should be sharing this ๐ฎ๐ค๐?
Seriously though, excellent acoustic work on a tasty and warm sounding acoustic. Doesnโt need anything more to deliver this Christmas song. -

Finallyโฆ.a bluesified Christmas song! Well played, John. For an encore, how about playing it on your mandolin? Iโm pretty sure you could easily do it.

I almost bought a J-45, but after hearing and playing the Yamaha FGX5, I couldn’t leave without purchase. Nice playing there. That’s not an easy one to play.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Love the little strums and arpeggios in the gaps, that really gives it some motion. And the hammer ons and bass runs give it a great blues county feel. Love it! ๐

Nice take on the lesson , itโs a great sound when the melody just comes out of the chord arrangement, and the tone of the Gibson compliments it fully.
This one has that subtle country blues sound which always sounds good .Happy festive season to you and your family.
