Hello and Happy Holidays AM family

I did this song several years ago, didn’t play it for years and COMPLETELY forgot it. Had to learn it over again from scratch but it seemed a little easier to learn this time. Anyway I went back and listened to the first one I did and this seems a little better. It’s really hard to become a semi accomplished guitar player when you don’t play anywhere or with anyone. I don’t go to jams much at all.

Nice to see you, Paddy! Your playing is not too shabby, either! This was very smooth and melodic – well done for sure! You played my one all-time favorite song on guitar 🙂

One way to compensate for lack of live jam buddies is participation in the challenges, the monthly deadlines are great motivators (but you know it already) 😉

Thank you very much for Greensleeves. I remember hearing this song for the first time on the Jeff Beck Group’s album “Truth.” You did a great job.

                    Merry Christmas, Werner

Sounded good to me Paddy! Good to see you in the challenge this month. I agree with JoLa, participating here has done great things for my playing…just being accountable to work on something helps. I feel it’s always a journey up a mountain, once in a while you turn around and see you’ve gained some elevation, but the summit is always far far away.
                      Merry Christmas! 🎄

Great tone as well. It’s always fun relearning something isn’t it? Have a wonderful holiday season.

Good to see you back again Paddy. I’ve always known this tune as greensleeves but I knew that by virtue of how well you picked out the melody above that smooth strumming. Well done

Good one, Paddy – well played. And you’re right the challenges are a good way to keep motivated. That way, we have to practice at least once per month.

And I totally relate with your post— I’m dealing with the same challenges. It’s surprising how fast a tune can disappear from memory. I’ve had to relearn a few from scratch too, even if they came back a bit easier the second time. And yeah, it’s tough to progress when you’re not playing with others regularly. I’m in the same boat with not having people to practice with.

Well played! That’s a simple arrangement but it’s very nice to listen to, the strums really add to the motion and interest of the piece.
