Hi everyone,
Long time no see! Sorry I haven’t been active on the forum since the last challenge — things got pretty busy in my personal life. But I wanted to thank everyone for watching and commenting on my October challenge.
This time, I really want to get more involved in the challenge and check out everyone’s performances. So far, I’ve watched 10, and wow… there are some seriously talented guitarists here! I’ll keep going tomorrow.
Anyway, here’s my attempt at EP389 – Jingle Bells Acoustic Blues Version.

I like how you kept it slower, that is going to help you in the long run for sure.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Good job Mathieu. That’s not very easy to play, but you have the right idea: Better to go a little slower, and keep the accuracy level up. Well played!

That is a challenging arrangement, Mathieu, you sure didn’t go for an easy one! And I think you did great by playing it slowly so you could focus on the clarity and tone. Very nicely done, glad you made it!

Very enjoyable rendition Mathieu! Better slower and accurate than too fast and played wrong and you played it very well!

Great playing, clean and steady. Those fill licks sound fantastic too!

Mathieu,
I see so many good things in your technique, ie. muting and accurate string targeting in your picking. Not to mention a steady foot tap, so critical in developing good timing. I’m so jealous of your finger flexibility. To play and A shaped bar chord and have the high E ring free is something I’ll never know.

You keep these bells jiggling in a slow but steady rhythm, Matthieu.
This arrangement is not too easy, but you have it under your fingers. Great sound!Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be at the beginning of next year 2026A detailed announcement will be posted here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.

Nice take on the lesson , and at a comfortable tempo keeping things in check , that’s quite a challenging piece , I remember playing it a couple of years back .
Good work with the recording as well .Happy Christmas to you .

Great job on EP389, Matthieu. You kept a steady rhythm and played clear and with a great tone.
I think at one time nearly everyone in the Challenges has tried to play this great lesson – me too. But you did a much better job than I did. There are some tricky parts in there, that you mastered skilfully! 👍🏽 well done! 👍🏽Bluesige Grüße
