Hello everyone! I’m Greg…just a quick shout out to introduce myself. Looking forward to getting back into playing more. I’m retired, 68 and had some recent health issues that have taken me away from my four babies. Particularly my Strat (’78 American). I’ve written a few songs, played in a few bands, and have been involved in music since the late 70’s. Like many of us, I got away from music during my career and raising kids, so here we are! Anyhoo, I’ll see ya’ll around the water cooler!

        Cheers!
        Greg

Welcome to AM Greg. You found the best site for guitar playing around. I’ll let some of our recording gurus answer your question but you shouldn’t have much trouble. Look forward to seeing you and your ’78 on the forum.

Thanks man! I’m sure it’s just a matter of figuring out the lay of the land…

Greg, welcome to AM. Most of us seem to be in the same boat as you – retired and health issues! Who would have thought growing old could be bad for your health! 😀

Would love to hear some of your playing…consider uploading something to the “Showcase your playing” forum. And join in on the monthly challenges…everybody’s welcome regardless of their skill level.

Thanks! I’m having trouble figuring out how to get stuff uploaded. I’m pretty sure I’ve extinguished my known options, and I’m now going to solicit help from my dog and friend who is an archivist.

I know you’ll find several helpful messages for using YouTube and recording in the “Forum Help and Other Tutorials” forum pinned to the very top of the page. That’s how I learned to do it. And if I can, you can too!

Thanks, I poked around a little to see if there was something here to help me, but didn’t see it. I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Hi Greg and welcome aboard. Enjoy the 6 string once again.

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete
