Hello, my name is Reid. Just joined the AC forum yesterday, and wanted to introduce myself to the members. I’ve been playing for 40+ years, and never fully understood what I was doing.

I happened to catch an Active Melody video, on YT, about the Circle of Fifths, and in a space of minutes, what was once a long-time baffling mystery, suddenly made sense. Watched a few more AM videos and realized Brian’s lessons are easy to understand, so I subscribed.

I’ve started the AM lessons, and hope to share progress with the forum, asap.

At any rate, just wanted to introduce myself to everyone, rather than jumping in on existing threads, from out of nowhere.

        Cheers!

          Hi Reid
It’s great you found your way to AM. Brian is an amazing teacher, guitar player and composer. You will learn a lot new stuff here💡💡🎸! I’m looking forward to your submissions. There is also a monthly challenge you can join and we have a great motivating community.
          All the best, Denise

I just watched your Texas Shuffle video. Very cool!

Welcome, Reid. Brian is a great teacher and has created really effective tools and original content for learning. Still picking up new things after several years here.

                  Thank you, John.

Like you have done, I hope to get a lot of use from the lessons. Brian is the first teacher that I actually understand. In the short amount of time I’ve been here, it’s already time – and money – well spent.

Welcome to AM Reid and thanks for the introduction and the bio page. That’s the way it was done for years. Great community here on the forum and Brian’s lessons are the best.
                  Best wishes,
                  Mike

                      Reid,
Welcome aboard! I think you’ll soon realize what a lucky strike it was for you to “stumble upon” Active Melody – just as many of the rest of us did. I went thru many Youtube “wanna b guitar teachers” – none of them compare to Brian’s successful teaching style, player expertise, and his passion for sharing his knowledge.

                      Let the fun begin!

                      Good Wishes,
                      Marie

Brian is a good teacher, and I’m having fun indeed. 🙂

Welcome Reid and Jack. I recently joined AM myself and am positive you found the right place. I also looked elsewhere for a couple years but Brian just seems to be able to easily explain things. The monthly challenges and showcase your playing are a great way to get encouraging feedback.

The lessons are in no order. You can search for whatever you’re looking for and jump right in.
