I am having trouble with the meter in Unit 3 of Lesson 7 regarding the strum pattern that is being taught. The original song meter is 4/4 but the strum pattern seems to only have 6 beats 4 for the first measure and 2 for the second as being demonstrated in the video. This is how I see it:
|.1……2……3……4.|.1……2……3……4.|
|.D……D……DU…..DU UD…..UDU….?……?.|
What am I missing in the pattern?

Hi Bruce,
I believe you are referring to Module 7 Unit 3 (Strum Pattern Two). If so, what I think you are missing in the pattern are the pauses in between the chord strums. And also keep in mind that the length of notes varies now in pattern 2.
In Pattern 1 DUDUDUDU/DUDUDUDU, all the notes were the same length. Pattern 2 introduces some variation so it changes into D_D_DUD_/UUD__UDU
