I had the question come up during this months challenge post about how I record while I’m now living on a boat.
Pretty simple really; I have a UAudio Volt 2 channel interface which I can plug directly into. Then it takes USB-C out into my iPad mini running garage band. I even can power the interface off an Anker battery supply. All monitored through some nice headphones.
Just food for thought for anyone who is doing some traveling. This would be equally applicable to an RV or a hotel room.
You could even use it as a practice rig as GarageBand has many amp sims loaded in it.
That’s cool Bill. I loved the boat video!

Nice Bill, that sounds pretty much like my normal setup. I have an iRig2 interface. It’s powered by the iPad I use with GarageBand. Direct into the interface, then the Apple Lightning cable into the iPad. The iRig has a jack for earbuds to monitor, or a line-out to push the sound to an amp or PA system. Simple, and cheap… not the highest of fidelity, but very workable for web videos.
