I first heard this song as part of a ad for the Laff More Channel on Roku TV .
The tab is available in the video if anyone wants try it – opening lick is really smoking…….
Meh…
I have mixed feelings. I obviously love the style, it’s wearing the Gypsy influence out and proud. Personally I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t a “metal” sound…didn’t even have to be totally clean, Django’s later amplified stuff is has tons of amp compression on it.
But I guess if Django had access to a Jackson and some screaming overdrive, he may have used it all…but he would have been a different player.
Bill
Keep in mind that what I posted was a cover; I chose that because the tab was included in case someone was interested.
I don’t know what Gutherie Govan and Jan Cyrka used on the original recording.
As I was watching reruns of Tim Allen’s show Home Improvement, this song is played during commercials for other shows. I found it to be an interesting tune with a rockabilly, swing feel to it with a touch of Django on that one part
If you look at the website that Jan Cyrka is associated with, it looks like he’s part of a group that produces educational products for guitar….
They advertise “Over 2000 Releases and 20,000 Tracks From 100+ Artists” so maybe they are trying to be the European version of Truefire….
That’s more like it! Sounds like Les Paul 🙂
