Hello fellow members
In this month challenge my AHA moment isLearning “Brian’s modified position 4. You will see how I incorporate that scale in this slow deep blues. Learning that skill I was able to navigate thru and able to connect to other scales also.
Let me know how the music made you feel.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Hi KT, wow, I really enjoyed this! And, I love Brian’s modified 4th position. It’s so versatile for either major or minor improvisation, and moves one across the fretboard well. Great highlight here!

Nice blues jam, KT. You’ve got a great feel for working these ideas into the track.

Great playing KT…Please excuse my ignorance but which lesson is Brian’s modified 4th position in? This looked and sounded like something that would be helpful to me.

Nice one KT. I’m also a big fan of that 4th position, because there’s just so much you can do within it. It’s apparent that you have highly developed phrasing skills, which tells me you may have played in a band at one time. Or maybe still do.

Hi Steve thank you for the compliment.
Never played in a band but I tinkered with guitar since I was a teenager. Self thought enjoyed jamming with any song that moved me. You can say I played with many bands listening and jamming on my Friday happy hour 🍻lol -

Wonderful playing, KT!
It just kept getting better, I loved the tremolos!
The position 4 is also something I started exploring lately so I can totally relate.

Just like your 1st, KT you feel the blues in your phrasing, you have just got it. Liked how you incorporated the modified position 4 into your playing and brought it to life. Must revisit this modified position, thanks for shining the lightbulb on it. The light and shade with the sound from upper neck to lower neck also made it a conservational piece for feeling the blues.

Bluesy, spacey and relaxed KT, I think I might have missed that lesson on the modified 4th! I could do with some of that!

Welcome to the Challenge, KT, and congrats on your first video.
It was a pleasure to watch you moving through the pentatonic positions with such nice phrasing. Looked like you were incorporating the two extended diagonal pentatonic scales quite a bit. Always a good choice for great phrasing.

I think that’s the right way to play the guitar, KT. Take a concept, a wonderful BT and improvise some fine music and have fun with it. And all of that you have done here. And I had fun listening to you.
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will probably take place in July/August 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.

Nice playing there KT , you have a firm hold of playing in position four , navigating the fretboard well , sounds great over the backing track .

Great choice of backing tracks, for starters. Then you pile on a terrific and soulful melody line — with riffs and trills that are easy to get lost in. I got the impression that you had become completely absorbed in the music — in the zone, so to speak, which is the best place to be.

Paul you are absolutely correct.
Without realizing I went into a deep zone.
It was the first take and I tried to correct the intro on the second take nothing came out right. -

KT, I missed last month so I didn’t see your 1st post. Welcome! Your experience playing and improvising are reflected in this submission. I thought it was well played and matched up well with the jam track. Not sure what the modified 4th position is but I’ll look it up. Pap

Nice submission KT! well done!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May) -
