I beg your indulgence. Here is the same Drop D Fingerpicking arrangement without echo/delay. I think the absence of effects gives the arrangement a purer, cleaner sound. You can actually hear the resonator and there is less interference. Thank you for listening. Rock on!

Yes, it is definitely purer, John. I liked the eerie, haunting quality that your echo effect created. Both versions are terrific and are excellent examples of Drop D finger picking.

I’m still going with number 1. Give me another with just reverb😛. Messing with the sound is half the fun.

I am laughing my ass off but so disagree with you. Thanks for the feedback.

Up until recently John I had no idea what dro p D meant!!!!!Now I’ve discovered its haunting, dark feeling!!!It’s absolutely amazing! For the moment I’ve been experimenting on it with a pick!!!I guess the next step is to try fingerstyle!!!Your thumb keeps moving so steadily while the haunting melody is created!!!Bravo my friend 🧡 🩷🧡💕❤️

Drop D tuning is awesome Helen. With my classical stuff it appears a lot in earlier period music – especially Renaissance or Baroque. The Celtic post I put up last time was all drop D and it appears a lot in that music too.
That bass D string gives a nice droning effect.

Hi John, this still sounds great but I prefered the previous post where you had the echo / delay. It just imparted that more ghostly / haunting feel that I liked.
Its just personal taste for me but I always do my classical recordings with a some reverb thrown in.

I hate to say it but I thought the first one with the effects was better. The melody is more haunting and the guitar just stands out more. But your playing is still admirable.

You can feel and hear your joy in this kind of music. Great picking.

Enjoyed both John but like most others really loved the echo/delay version best. Yes, rock on. All the best! 😎🎸😎
