Hi AMers
For Brian’s C-F-G track I worked in some minor and mixolydian lead and rhythm ideas from Brian’s lessons EP469, EP589 and EP593. I like how the two modes can be mixed together. And I just love the bluesy mixolydian mode.
When I recorded my challenge last weekend I had a bad poll allergy that affected my eyes, therefore no full size video.
It’s better now and I am enjoying the spring blossom in Switzerland.I am looking forward to watching your ideas.

Really cool Denise. I love the way you’ve incorporated ideas/licks from other lessons. Some sound very familiar for sure. Great crunchy tone which suits your rendition perfectly. Is this a new Tele? It looks and sounds awesome. 😎🎸😎

Really an excellent composition and rendition, Denise! You took inspiration from those lessons in a wise way, and you came out with a very good piece of music in your own style, with a great tone from your Tele! Among the different options, the mixolidian feel over major chords is for sure very intriguing and inspiring: very well done!

Very cool vibe, Denise.Just listened to Garry’s great submission and it’s fun to see how different these can sound with that backing track. Loved your tone, also.

Oh Denise,
This is head turning, biting, fantastically tonalicious. You start off with a simple idea and it evolves nicely into a multi-layered groove. A lot of texture. Love the sound of the Tele. Thanks for your continued inspiration. Hope your allergies clear up.John

Great throaty tone for starters. You could play almost anything in that tone and it would sound good.
You managed to build on that strong opening phrasing, though and work around it beautifully. Your choice of melody nicely overcame the underlying monotony of that backing track without conflicting with it. Cool beans. -

Hi Denise, glad your allergies are lessening. My wife gets that too, its not pleasant.
That Mixolydian sound really works for this track. I didn’t think to try that. Combined with your tone it all comes together very well. A great listen, thanks! -

This sounds rough and yet somehow dreamy, Denise. What a great inspiring mixture. Creamy seems to be happy too. She definitely sings in the most beautiful tones.
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom.
The next Meetup will take place on May 31There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in the next days..
I look forward to meet you.

Haha, I’m still cracking up over the fact that you named your Tele “Creamy”. Somehow it seems very appropriate! You had plenty of lovely licks in there, and the tone was just awesome. If you are suffering from red eye, you could always do like Sia, who played with her back to the audience, or wearing a huge wig that came down below her eyes. I think she performed for almost a decade while never showing her face.

Hi Denise , you gave that backing track some texture with that bluesy lead , the mixolydian sound works a treat , cool that you worked in ideas from those lessons , and once again you’ve dialled in a great tone , that new pick up does sound good lots of blues attitude!

What a great sound, Denise!
Going mixolydian and minor was a brilliant idea, I love how you always know how to find YOUR sound. The execution was flawless as always, I know this will sound cliché, but you seem to play (and mostly likely practice) with a Swiss watch precision, I never hear any flubs in your recordings. Also love Creamy’s tone, that neck humbucker gives it a nice oomph, I suppose. Really well done, hope your allergies subside soon!🎸JoLa

Just loved the minor and mixolydian fusion Denise. Your unhurried relaxed style and full use of the fingerboard gave us all those contrast tones you aimed for. Hope the infection clears up soon.

Hi Denise, that was really good! I thought you did a fantastic job of mixing the minor and mixolydian with some really cool licks and just the right amount of space. Great tone coming out of that tele as well!
