Good day to all,
Hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
Particularly interesting challenge this month – I assumed that I was going to be doing a blues of some sort, but what came out was completely different.
I thought it had quite an eerie quality, although it reminds me a little of the theme music for one of the 1960s biblical blockbuster films where Charlton Heston trudges through the desert in his sandals.
Anyway, I hope you like it – here’s the link –Really looking forward to going through everyone’s submissions,
Mike

Beautifully played, Mike – wonderful composition 👍🎶. Don’t know about “ biblical blockbuster” – made me think of a spaghetti western, the lone rider with no name riding into the sunset 😎
Best wishes 😊

Well done Mike!
Relaxing composition. Reminded me of a background guitar for some sort of cinematic film scene, as you mentioned, played very well!Don P

I’m in the camp of the Italian spaghetti western soundtrack myself, was that Ennio Morricone? Anyway great playing Mike.

Nice one Mike. It’s funny how fooling around with chords and melodies will take you in one direction or another. I like your cinematic tune.

Mike, that was a very relaxed composition. Somehow really nice. Well done.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Very relaxing with a ting of Irish/English folk music sound. Nice playing!

Thanks Pat. The folky sound wasn’t intentional, but I thought it came out a bit medieval. I confess that I borrowed a lick from the Shadows that was played by Hank Marvin on a lute!

Mike, this is your best submission so far in my opinion. This beautiful melody definitely has a movie soundtrack attributes and it was executed flawlessly. It’s amazing what little noodling can lead to, not always what we expect at first but with incredible results 🙂

Great playing, Mike.
Now how come minor chord progressions often sound like movie scores?

Thank you Wim. Those minor chords do sound dramatic – I think it’s an easy way for the film people to go to set a mood.

Hi Mike
I have listened to you with pleasure. It is interesting that you wanted to make a blues and then you set Moses to music; Moses wanted to be a shepherd and went to speak with the pharaoh. I feel Easter is near.Livio

Atmospheric beautiful music! It’s incredible how, starting from the same 3 chords, you can have such different results. Yes, If I close my eyes and listen to your music I can see a scene of Moses reaching and then parting the Red Sea!

Mike, Yes, this does sound like a movie soundtrack! I wonder what movie you are talking about. I think older movies had better emotive music in the background. You created the feel very well. Good tone, too!

I like all of your submission Mike, there are always so true, so sincere and intimate, sure there are greater players who do it like pro, but you have always a very personal touch, something that sign you, at least this is the way I feel it.
Meeting soul thru music is clearly one of my (far) objective, and you get that kind of color.Where does the white go when snow melts?

Hi Mike, I like your song … A LOT! Your timing and tone really commanded attention. And combined with that really interesting melody line it was v fun to hear. BTW I was hearing a haunting jazzy feel and had to laugh at your biblical blockbuster description!
Cheers, Tom
