Learn to play blues guitar.
Home › Forums › Discuss Songs / Music › Little Martha tabs
Little Martha was originally played as an acoustic duet by Duane Allman and Dickie Betts. There are things two guitars can do that one guitar just can’t copy. But several people (including myself) have worked out to play it fairly easily in Open E tuning. I heard a guy on Youtube (from Tennessee, I think) play it in Open E, so I knew it was possible. Then recently I found tabs for it had been produced by some university music department in America. It’s pretty close to how I play it, so I thought it would be good to share the tabs with anyone from AM who is interested in learning it. Voila:

Nice find Steve. This looks to be a little above my abilities right now but since I really admire the ABB I’m gonna give it a shot when I’m able to, thanks!

Strangely enough, it’s actually quite easy to play. The hardest part is maintaining that bar chord on the 5th fret while you use your little finger to play the melody line. But the whole thing is very repetitious, so not that much to learn.
