        Just for the record
27 degree F with wind and snow from the NE is too cold to have to change a radiator!!!

Of all times for it to go bad, I had to help my son change the radiator in his truck today and the only bright spot was that it wasn’t colder or more windy!

FYI, if any of you own Toyota products, keep a check on your automatic transmission fluid having engine coolant mixed in it and transmission fluid in the radiator. Kinda looks like a strawberry milkshake mix. This is a common fault with Toyota & Lexus and 2nd radiator that I’ve changed out for this defect.

I’ve owned Honda and Toyota since the mid 80s and had very minimal issues with either brand. I don’t know if I would own anything else
This radiator issue is one of the very few problems that we’ve encountered and I think its more a case that they are made of plastic and aluminum rather than copper like they used to be.
A friend has been a certified Toyota mechanic for a number of years and he told us that this is one of few issues that is a known reoccurring one. My son bought an 02 Tundra just before Christmas it started to overheat; as we were checking if he had enough antifreeze to keep it from freezing up while driving, we noticed this problem. Its a great truck and he loves the dual exhaust a previous owner put on it.

Fortunately, a radiator isn’t that hard to change but it always seem that the weather never cooperates when you have to do something major.
