I wasn’t feeling very inspired by this backing track. Something clicked after days of ‘not feeling it.” I love rhythm guitar. I had something tucked far away, deep in my subconscious from years ago. This then became my challenge-to created/arrange something that might ‘energize’ this groove. I do believe my idea(s) came from something Robin Ford would play. Hope you enjoy. Please let me know what you think. Wishing you all the best. Happy August.

Maybe it’s the Strat, or the voicing, but I’m getting Hendrix vibes. You really get cooking on those lead licks too. Solid submission, well done 👍

You love rhythm guitar John and I love watching you play it!
So many variations and good vibes in your demo! I definitely appreciate the Robben Ford inspiration, and I loved how you broke into that funky rhythm at about 2:15! That was awesome and sounded so good to my ear. I couldn’t imagine you skipping the RHYTHM challenge, so glad you found the way to “energize” the track with your last minute ideas!🎸JoLa

I am glad you didn’t skip the challenge.
Loved the funky rhythm with these bass lines. Great use uf tremolo. Super lead lines, double stops. To me it has a JRV vibe🎸👍.
Well done, John.More Blues!

Excellent composition and rendition, John! I can definitely hear many influences in your playing, but played with your own style. Enjoyed very much to listen to your rendition!

Wow John, energised the track… full throttle. The different phases using the variety of rhythms that were demonstrated was eye-opening. It needs to be watched again, a real learning curve in rhythm.

Hi John , you certainly gave this track some boost with your rhythm and fills , especially when you dug in a bit with the second pass .
So much variety in this arrangement, love the lead section at 1.43 you pulled a nice melody out of those minor chords .Martin

That checks all my boxes for inspired rhythm playing, John. I can see how other members in a band get all fired up and urge to jump into the groove. Excellent!

Hi John, that was really good and sounded like you finally got inspired! I’m a Robin Ford fan, and could definitely see (hear) that. Very cool lick with tremolo around 1:17.

Bravo John. That was some solid rhythm playing there. Had a real power to it and created such a good groove. I was watching how fluid and relaxed your right hand is and the swing it generates.
Enjoyed all your variations but the second verse with the bass line and the chord stab really caught my ear. -

Nice playing John! I really liked the rhythm you came in with at about 2:15. The inversions made it sound interesting. Robbin Fordish indeed!
