Well this is as raw as it gets. No testing to see if the backing track is too soft or loud, ditto for the guitar. No trying to figure out which guitar and pickups to use. No practice. I did look at the tab to see what chords are used, but that is it. Actually kind of refreshing to just do it!
This submission is number 1 of 1.

Good work David. That “just do it” approach brought out some great ideas like those little triad flourishes and the whole thing had an immediate freshness to it.

a very smooth, relaxed playing David! perfect for this backing track, congrats!

Your submission fitted the bill perfectly, David. Your composition was super and your playing complemented the backing track. All very good.

I like how you toss in a little chord or triad here and there in between riffs. And you might call this raw, but I know what raw sounds like, and this is not it. This is more of a medium well done. Excellent.

I liked your whole approach to this challenge David, you then set about playing something really quite special. Your cool well-placed chords with intertwining melody runs complemented this backing track perfectly. Very refreshing and a treat to listen to.

Your first ‘raw’ improv sounded lovely, David! You got me at the opening slide lick which you then repeated and that was very pleasing to hear. Beautiful sound, very smooth playing and exploring. Your approach was quite brave but it sure worked 🙂

Simple but musical licks. The chord tones are a nice touch. I like how the second verse kicks off with a very similar lick to the first, but developed it a little more. Cheers! 🙂

It‘s such a pleasure to see, how much musical repertoire we all seem to have, to master such a one take challenge. The same here, David, you succeeded to build a musical theme with your one take improvisation immediately on the fly, which is a pleasure to listen to from the start. You did great!

You are right David it was a refreshing challenge – certainly less hassle. This was really nice & you looked so relaxed. I loved the way your responded when you hit a note you weren’t pleased with – you were really in the moment 🙂 Well played.

Your “take” was refreshing and very musical David. Your note choices were awesome as was your rhythmic chord work. In your top tier of performances. Bravo. Tom

Nice work David. This was deliberate and tasty! Love the tone you are getting. Additionally, your use of chords then moving right into lead play was very effective.

Hi David, this was fun! I like your use of triads/chords here and there to fill out the lines. I especially liked your first round through the changes. Your phrasing and note choices created what felt like a cohesive end-to-end idea. Nice!
