Hello Patrick, nice to see you again. This is awesome as usual, you really get into these types of pieces and it shines thru in your playing, really good!
Rob
Love the music room BTW. -

Super cool, Patrick! I didn’t even recognize this tune until you got to the lead part, and then realized that it’s one that I’d previously submitted (of much inferior quality, I must note). Great effects and superlative, funkadelic playing on this!! Your studio seems to be burgeoning. It looks you’ve acquired some new, heavy duty artillery.

What the funk! Very entertaining and well played, Patrick. I previously said I wanted to visit and sample your great guitar selection. Now I want to come and check out your growing studio.

I r-e-a-l-l-y like the way you played this. Your high-register tone is in Ernie Isley’s territory—nice!

Patrick, that was great. You master the Wahwah really well.
I think you’re born for it. Cool!Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thanks for your kind responses, guys! I do not use the wahwah to often, but it’s a great pedal for the funky stuff! Martyn (@renz4), every day I thank my wife for her marvellous idea to built a room to our house!
Despite Bryce’s (@bryce-AKguitar) reprimand to John (@charjo) earlier this week, I have to say I am not entirely satisfied with my recording of the EP123.
In my humble opinion, the backing track is fine (drums, bass, 2 rhythm guitars) and the (wahwah) lead guitar playing the riff, fills and funky chords are good too. But my solo….
I tried to incorporate Brian’s solo of the lesson, but this one seems to fit much better in a 110 BPM track and I could not come up with something better.Therefor, I would like to ask you to make your contribution to my showcase, and add an appropriate solo in between the 1.43-2.33 interval of the attached SoundCloud-track. I filtered my solo out of the track, so please fill up the space the way you like it!
Don (@don-deering), John (@charjo), Martyn (@renz4), Mark (@markostrowski509gmail-com), Kubrider (@kubrider), Larry (@sciencefiction), Lights (@lights), John (@sunburst), Wilfried (@WBlues), Scott (@4mactelus-net), Jeff (@yieldingtourofhermann-com), Jim (@gensisg), Strykerward (@strykerward): cannot wait to hear your solos!
Regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick, even if you#re not all too satisfied with your solo, I think this was a great, well rounded composition. Groovy headboppin funky wahwah.

Nice job Patrick. I never did learn that lesson very well, not sure why. You have inspired me to go back and revisit it. You did great on the wah pedal, also. I tried it one of my earlier monthly challenges, so I appreciate how difficult it is.

Patrick- Man I loved every second of that. It had me up dancing and I don’t even dance. Well played and well produced. And I’m jealous of your guitar collection and studio. Keep up the great work

Hi Patrick
That is terrific. What ever doubts you may have its a really absorbing sound played perfectly. You are your best critic and I have no doubt that that is what is driving you playing to such a high standard.

Hey Patrick,
Funking great post man and I realise you have your own high standards and will be your own worst critic; but man I agree with the other good people this is fantastic and you have it all going on. One nation under a groove; FUNKADELIC!
Great post and I’ve got to say your room is transforming into a mean studio with great guitar collection; I think we all are looking over your shoulder at your equipment with some envy.
Cheers Bri

Nice groove on this, and your wah. pedal fit really well. As a teenager, I had a wah pedal mostly because of White Room, and the In the West version of Little Wing. Even then, I knew that everything I got out of it sounded like crap, so I have always been impressed with anyone who can make it sound musical, and you certainly did that. Very fine playing.
