Ive had an apogee Jam for some time and used it many times on ipad and iPhone, no problems, with GarageBand and various other apps.
However, I just bought a new MacBook Pro to replace my aging laptop and tried it last night for the first time with GarageBand, only to find I now have a latency problem! I’ve pulled out what was left of my hair,
Has anyone any suggestions?
Mike.

I had the same problem with an Apogee Jam and my iMac. It works fine on my devices, but was useless with plugged into the computer because of latency. I tried a few things and gave up. It was easier to record to the devices than to find a solution.
Thanks for your response and help, I will have a go at that tonight.
I had the same problem. Bryce turned me on to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, so I bought one, plugged it in, and never had any problem since. The Apogee Jam (I have 2 of them gathering dust on my shelf) was specifically designed for the iPad, so maybe that has to do with it.

Thanks for that Steve, I read on online somewhere if you turn the input switch off and back on again it resets it, so I tried it and bingo! it works again and no latency!
At least thats with the headphones on it’s a bit late now to crank things up but I’ll try it again tomorrow. Ive made a little test recording by importing Brian’s Jamtrack into GarageBand and playing over it and I’m impressed with quality,
Just another 30 or 40 takes to get it right and I might post it!
