Hello dear AM friends,
I am sending a musical greeting from the Greek island of Kythira, where I am currently spending some time.
Here you can enjoy a really original Greek atmosphere, many beautiful places to linger, the blue sea, nice tavernas with good food and sometimes excellent Greek music.
I have captured a little bit of it for you. Kalimera and Jamas from Kythira!Sorry for my poor camera work.

Yes, my dear Helen, the weather really is quite a bit better than last year. And thank you for your comments on the music and the translation. It fits so well with the mood of the music. Jamas!

Hi Manfred, thank you for sharing those impressions! How cool to have live music to your meal, no doubt that adds a lot of feel-good atmosphere to your vacation.
Best greetings back to Greece and keep having a wonderful time!-

Thank you very much, Kevin. Yes, you’re right, it really is particularly atmospheric to have dinner accompanied by live music. And luckily we still have enough time to do it a few more times

Strangely enough, I knew about the Antikythera mechanism, which is the oldest known analog computer. But I didn’t realize that Kythera was actually an island. So I had to find it on Google Maps. And I am surprised at how close it is to the latest war zone (Iran vs Israel). I wonder if you can see some ballistic missiles or fighter planes from where you are. What places on earth are safe these days, I wonder? Well, certainly New Zealand is, so far……
Hope you have tons of fun! Maybe buy a bouzouki while you are there.

Thanks for your wishes, Steve. And yes, you’re right, the warzone isn’t that far from here. Fortunately, there’s only a lot of cicada noise here and no sounds of war. On the contrary, it’s very peaceful here and hopefully it will stay that way for a long time to come.

Hi Manfred
That’s some very nice melodic Greek music. And I love the sound of these beautiful guitars/bouzouki.
Enjoy your holidays.
