Thanks for posting Moose. Pretty amazing, especially the last clip if he had Alzheimers when he was playing that clip.

Thanks, Rodger! Until today, I knew him for his hits and I thought he was a 12-string specialist because of his presence on an album featuring 12-string players.

Here are a few more shredders from him that I stumbled on after seeing the duet from 1965; I like this one for its playfulness (seen from 1:48 to 2:12 on your post).

This last one is a steel guitar interpretation of “Wichita Lineman” (my favorite Glen Campbell song), but Glen Campbell isn’t playing on it.

The film, “The Wrecking Crew” used to be on Netflix. I was amazed to find out that Glen Campbell was part of this famous group of Los Angeles studio musicians in the early 1960’s that backed many top-selling hits of that era and, later, became Phil Spector’s house band. They became the most requested studio musicians in LA playing behind Jan & Dean, Mamas & Papas, Frank Sinatra and were ghost players on the first two Monkee’s albums and the Beach Boys’Pet Sounds. Glen even toured with the Beach Boys in 1965. And who didn’t love the “Glen Campbell Show”.

Our main local TV channel here in New Zealand has assembled a special 2 hour show on Glen Campbell which will be shown tonight. He was much discussed on the news last night, so it seems he has lots of fans here.
