Over the years, I’ve developed my own pick-up selection preferences for my Strat. For example, I usually put the selection switch position to access the bridge and middle pick-ups. I’d be very interested to know what other Strat players do. I’ve noticed that Brian, when using his several Strats in lessons, selects different positions for different songs.

I spend most of my time on the bridge PUP, some middle, some bridge……rarely in between…..but depends on amp also……

For more twang I like to go between the bridge and middle pu’s. The rest of the time I’m between the neck and middle.

              Hi charleydelta

This is very interesting indeed. I set at the end of my Strat to my needs.
Here, I have not the settings that Fender recommends selected.
The were too shrill in the treble.
I like on the pos. 5 a soft sound for Blues. Therefore, my single coil is set here deeper.
I have also set the other pickups differently.

              My pickup:
              Custom Shop Fat 50s Strat

So primarily it is up to the basic setting of the pickups and what you have. I mean
Then, what kind of sound you want.
Depth position of pickups ensure a softer sound.

Look at times the item of the pickup on the neck to. Stop the film at 6:23
              This Strat I have.
