Forgive my sarcasm but Fender has put Tele pickups in a Strat body for something that looks remarkably like a Mustang…………. Wow!!
It gets even better – it has a price tag of $2 Grand! Really???And they wonder why they have financial issues????
I’m sure someone will come along saying that its the greatest thing since Leo first introduced the Strat ………blah..blah…blah
As I said, please forgive my sarcasm…….

I don’t get why they keep on trying to reinvent their guitars, sure things progress and evolve but these guitars are still magnets, copper wire and pots just the same as they were in the 1950’s. 2 grand for a Stratotele?, shame it isnt a MIJ guitar that would really have the cork sniffers pulling their wigs off…

Saw it. I considered buying a custom Strat with Telecaster humbuckers a couple of years ago, but decided that with the noiseless Strat pickups, there is absolutely no point.

Could probably do the same thing with Warmoth for $1200 and end up with a better finished product, superior parts, and made to your specifications.
The one thing that this guitar will solve for sure is whether the tele twang that is so famous comes from the parts setup, or the body. I’ve always suspected that a good deal of the twang comes from where your hand naturally sits when holding a tele, which is closer to the bridge, while on a Strat the hand position is much more likely to be near the neck pickup.

And with the G&L S500 and Comanche and the Fender Strats that has the S1 switching, you can run the neck & bridge pickups like a Tele. My Comanche can get a very convincing Tele sound
Rather than putting time & effort into models like this, why don’t they learn from makers like Suhr and improve the quality?? I guess there will be enough players that will just have to have this Limited Edition that it keep their cash flowing………

It’s a world of marketing we live in, that’s for sure. Since I got my hands on a Strat with a 12 inch radius neck I don’t think I could ever go back to a 9.5 but that’s just me. I don’t like the looks of it and the price is way out there.
