First of all, thank YOU, Active Melody friends, for being there with all your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm for this tricky instrument and the joy of learning it together! This month marks a milestone for me, 100 challenge projects, I may have missed just 3 in the last 8.5 years. I don’t know what I would do without you all fellow travelers, feel so lucky to be a part of this wonderful community of like-minded souls from all over the World!

Brian even composed a lesson just for this occasion, ML100! ML for milestone! 😉😉😉
I gave myself an extra challenge of playing it with a pick and added EP483, both are in the key of D, of course 🙂

I’m looking forward to watching your contributions this weekend and I’m so proud and excited to see many of you hitting your next milestones with Active Melody, what a ride! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Just you and the guitar, Jola. I think this is the right way to celebrate your 100. Challenge Submission. And in your playing you show all your love and sensitivity for this instrument.
A truly worthy performance for this occasion.
You are right, it‘s awesome to be on this guitar journey together and without you, it would only be half as beautiful.
Congrats for 100. It‘s simply incredible.

First of all, congratulations again on your huge achievement, Jola! Then, I agree with you: also for me the driving force of this wonderful community and the mutual support is crucial in helping everyone in AM in this fascinating journey with the guitar and the music in general.

Your rendition for the great event was absolutely at the best level: you put together seamlessly two great lessons that I didn’t know. In fact the first time I listened to it I was thinking it was only one long beautiful composition.
Really very melodic and relaxing, with just a twist of sweet melancholy, and above all beautifully played on your acoustic, with a great resonating tone!

                Great, meaningful intro too. Ciao!

This submissions is special not just because it’s a milestone, but your creativity and thoughtful crafting of the quotes, and then your gentle and sweet delivery of those melodies was heart-warming and deep with feeling. Bravo, bravo, bravo!

Your speedy progress in playing guitar has been a lesson for us all. In a way I’m glad your son decided not to play and you picked up the guitar instead. All the best for your next 100.

Well done JoLa. Congratulations on your milestone. I am a big fan and thank you for your subtle encouragement and ongoing inspiration. We have fostered this great community of like minded folks, from different walks of life. Not sure what I’d be doing either without AM. I love your presentations and always tried to save yours for last. Couldn’t do it this time. Lol. This arrangement was played wonderfully-fluidly, tastefully and soulfully. The piece suits you well. Love your tone.

Wait a minute, I have to correct you. “You can do it.” is a famous Water Boy quote from “Rob Schneider “. He owns those words.

Seriously Jola, you deserve the accolades on this one, that’s a long run for sure. The journey never ends and it always gets better. Beautiful work here. There was a strange F# droning noise in the background, I don’t think it was intentional I thought it was at first but never the less…

Some thought you would play something in Drop D, but you surprised us all. That was a beautiful 100th anniversary of challenges. Well done and very sophisticated playing.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

I graduated with a PhD years ago, and I always tell people anyone can get a PhD. You don’t have to be smart, you just have to be persistent. The same is true with the monthly challenges. Just keep on playing and recording yourself, and suddenly you arrive at 100 challenges. I like those jazz chords used in this ML + EP fusion, nicely played!

Two weeks ago, I had to purchase a pair of hearing aids – I was missing much of what was around me, and Fiona had to keep repeating herself 👎👎☹️☹️ But perhaps I also need to get a new pair of glasses too, as when I first read your description, I saw, “… I gave myself an extra challenge of playing it backwards” 😲😲😂😂 I think I’m slowly falling apart 🤣🤣 – Mark 👍🎶😎
