For this challenge I chose the EP585, a very nice slow instrumental ballad.
I played verbatim the Brian’s lesson for the first cycle, but with the acoustic guitar instead of the electric.
Then I played my own improvisation/composition in the second cycle with the electric guitar, using mostly simple major pentatonic licks and chord shapes.

Both acoustic and electric versions were great Guido. And a beautiful background too.

I chose this same piece! I didn’t try to replicate Brian’s lead because it looked to hard! Your version was more bluesy than mine and very imaginative. I should have studied Brian’s choices up high on the neck more carefully to get the kind of variety you did. Great work.

Beautiful scenery.
Very nice playing.
You still have fingers after playing those big bends on the acoustic? LOLAndréM

Some sweet tones in this one Guido. Beautifully produced video with the ocean backdrop. It made a relaxing experience all around.

Awesome, Guido. First part (Brian’s composition) was played great! Your second half composition was amazing!! Wonderful sounding and played to perfection. You are a ballad maestro. Sooooo dreamy an improv! A+

Great lesson choice, Guido – and well played! I can’t say that I preferred one guitar or the other. To me, they both sounded great.

Oh, so nice and relaxing, Guido!
Love the sound of the acoustic guitar at the beginning and am amazed how well you tackled the bends and the fast phrases there. Then your soloing comes on the electric guitar and added even more smooth texture and nice melodic lines. Really nice additions to Brian’s lesson, top notch!🎸JoLa

Very melodic Guido. That was very impressive with the guitar change. I love this one.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Very fine playing Guido, on both cycles. I love harmonically rich tracks like this where you can pick notes from the chords and they just sort of guide you. Nice sounds!

Double joy! for this old school ballad. Both were beautifully played but especially the electric cycle as you complemented the original piece with your own ideas.

Wow! That was superb! Such a beautiful song too, I’ll have to look this one up.
Excellent bends, especially on the acoustic (ouch!) and those little fast runs were so fluid.
You’re own improvisation was full of creative and melodic ideas too which fully complimented the first cycle. -

Nice choice of lesson Guido , sounds great on the acoustic, but it really came to life on the electric you gave it a real 50s vibe with your own improv , complimenting the track.

That musical vibe suits so good to your backgroung picture, Guido. The contrast between zhe acoustic and the electric gives the whole thing so much esprit.
I liked your improvisation even better.
This turned out to be a thoroughly successful performance.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom

Guido, that was really well played and I like how you made it your own on the second time through. I also liked your colab with Andre on Fiddler’s Green. Really well played! Cheers. Pap

That was very good and played with a lot of soul Guido.

That’s got that cool late 50’s sort of vibe and you stayed true to it in your own version. Nicely played . Guido.

Great stuff Guido – I also played this lesson. Your improvisation was superb – it introduced a blusier feel to the piece but was still continuing the spirit of the original. Excellent.

Very nice submission in both parts Guido! You’ve played it very soulfully and I’ve also enjoyed the reverbed sound in the electric guitar part, fitting very well with the ballad atmosphere and that beautiful picture behind you
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

Well done Guido
Lovely performance and hella smooth pickin’. I love that Hummingbird and yes, even though I have a J45 I think I want one. You electric sounds smooth and magical. I too like the 50’s vibe created. Well done and loads of fun.John

Thank you very much John for your very nice comment! But my guitar is a Dove, not an Hummingbird. Just in case you really will buy one, make sure to ask for a Dove 😅 (the Hummingbird is anyway an amazing guitar too, but different) !

Lovely playing on both guitars Guido.
The chilled vibe suited you perfectly and the reverb effect and cool background painted the picture.
Well done.
