Hey my AM friends,
When I was going through Brian’s list of possible lessons for this challenge, I noticed that EP 628 Complementing The Chords was included, which I have enjoyed learning and playing over the past few weeks.
I had the idea that it might sound good to complement Brian’s lesson with a lead composition.
So I decided to do that for this challenge.I played Brian’s EP on my acoustic and the lead on my electric, supplemented with Brian’s backing track.
It was really fun to put this together, and now I hope you like it too.
I look forward to your comments and, above all, to hearing and seeing your contributions.
Best wishes to you all!
ManfredTake the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom

I look forward to meet you.

Very enjoyable Manfred, I loved those gorgeous double-stops you threw in, which gave your piece a rich and melodic depth.

Hey Manfred we did select the same lesson.
You played it very well.
Me I wasn’t brave enough to add a melody to it.
Good job man.AndréM

The lead was graceful and smooth, but the backup acoustic work was exceptional! The hammered on chords were beautiful and had the appropriate power. Great job between you and your backup guy.

Manfred, your contribution takes me back of a road in Texas, or was it Arizona? that endless road in the sky. Your melody brings back memories. Thank you,
Werner
Da hast Du mal wieder etwas besonders geschaffen. Wirklich klasse gemacht. Kompliment!!! Toll!!

What a beautiful production, Manfred!
Both parts beautifully played, rhythm and lead player – in their own pockets, respecting each other’s space 🙂 Great tone on both, very relaxing – would be perfect for a road trip as other may have noticed as well. It was a brilliant idea to add lead to a lesson, it must have been a very rewarding project for you.🎸JoLa

Wow, there are some great melody lines in there, Manfred. Words like soulful, chill, maybe even mournful come to mind. Nice job on the recording, perfectly mixed.

Sounds really good Manfred. I like the two guitars seemed to be in conversation with each other. A well thought out concept, and perfectly executed.

You gave yourself a challenge Manfred, providing this lesson with the part 2 of complementing it with a lead. Well done, it complemented without it being too busy which is a skill in itself. It was so complementary that it was like it was meant to be. Beautiful production.

Hi Manfred , nice lesson choice , full of melodic delights especially those 6ths , the acoustic works well as a backdrop for your own ideas which fitted the theme well and didn’t sound over the top .

We went in a similar direction this month with an acoustic and electric combination. Different lessons though and I thoroughly enjoyed your choice. So much so that I need to check this lesson out. Very fine playing on both parts but what I liked the most was the restraint you showed in your improvised lead. The two guitar parts weaved together and complimented each other so well, highlighting the melodies in each other. That’s a great skill on its own. Bravo 👏

Very creative and original idea, and so well crafted and beautifully played on both instruments, Manfred! You had my same idea to play both the acoustic and electric guitar, but you played them together, with beautiful original leads that complemented the harmony. One of your best submission so far!

Manfred, I like both parts and especially how you made it your own with the electric. Great jobs and thanks for hosting the monthly meetups. Cheers. Pap

Manfred, the beatutifully played acoustic part would have sufficed for me. Kudos for adding that beautifully phrased, melodic lead.

For me this is your best submission. Wonderfully relaxing and interesting and both parts played to a professional standard. Loved it.

Very creative Mannford and such a good idea to switch the guitar parts around and play lead with the teley.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Wow Manfred, such a great submission! nice to share the same EP with you for this challenge! You’ve enriched it so nicely, great idea!

You complimented yourself nicely with both guitars! You know, it’s about the music-and you provided some lovely and evocative melodies! Fluid, smooth and leaving me wanting more. Job well done.
