Until now, I did not know i am a Heavy Metal guitarist 🤣.
On a slightly more serious note, I will say that this is one of Brians more challenging lessons and it took me a while to get it down.
I threw, perhaps, a little more overdrive at this than I would normally do with my playing. All I can say is , gosh, I sure do like those humbucker pickups 😳

What a versatile player you are Geoff! The distortion absolutely was perfect for this piece. And your bends are spot on too. I haven’t heard the lesson yet but I assume the 2nd half was your improv and it was great.

Thanks Joe. The second half was indeed my own 😆 .
I had a lof fun throwing in bends with amount of sustain I had going through my amp. Good opportunity to practice doing a bend, dropping it and bending again.

That’s quite an extreme move from classical to heavy metal but if anyone can pull it off, it is you, Geoff! Fantastic job with that, great add-ons to lessons as well, you always put your personal touch. Sounded great, IMO, the OD was just right.

Thanks Jola. I have to admit, the OD came out well. I thought overdid it but when I play this back to myself, I feel it was just right 😎

Wow Geoff!!!!!!!What a huge leap from the classical guitar!!!and what a great lesson!I haven’t checked it and it seems very different from what Brian has created so far!!!It has undoubtedly inspired you and you seem to be playing it effortlessly!!!Congrats 💞❤️💕💞

It is a leap from classical but I realized, this morning, that i started Brian’s lessons more than five years ago. Maybe that counts for something 🤔.
At the end of the day, i just enjoy playing different music genres.

Wow, that’s a huge change from classical but you nailed it and your tone sounds great. I guess you truly never know until you try…nicely done Geoff.👍

What a departure for you, Geoff. Kudos to you. Very healthy, and perhaps a bit scary, to venture out of your comfort zone. And as always, you pulled it off well. As Joe said so perfectly, you certainly are a versatile musician. Its always a pleasure to see and hear your performances, no matter what the genre is.

Thanks David. Not as much of a departure as you might think. I was saying to Helen that I have been working on Brian’s lessons for over 5 years now.

Geoff
I am smiling ear to ear. Wonderful stab at a very cool arrangement. You totally Sixties this, with fuzz, reverb and soul. The world is probably glad we are not neighbors. This doesn’t surprise me. Nor do I think it is a departure for you. Your well within your comfort zone. It’s obvious that you love guitar classical, rock, blues etc. etc. I really like where to took the arrangement and yes made it all yours. Congrats on this… Very enjoyable.John

So glad you liked this John and , you are right, this is not a huge departure for me. I don’t typically use this much distortion or sustain in my playing style but the humbucker pickups on my Guild make that relatively easy to do.
Classical is my first love and the core of my playing but I love music regardless of genre 🎶.

Wow! You really blitzed this Geoff. Very, very impressive from go to wo! Loved your own impro too, your lead just flew from your fingers. Your best electric offering to date! Brilliant! 👏👏👏🌟👏👏👏 All the best! 😎🎸😎

I have done others that I preferred but I certainly enjoyed this lesson. I put a lot into it.

Well all that’s missing is a leather jacket and a pair of shades.
Dare I say your own additions came across much better than Brian’s.
Welcome to the dark side Geoff.
I hope you come back to visit more often 🎸🤘👊

Sounding like a rock star, Geoff. The neighbours are going to come with pitchforks and torches.
Great creativity on the improv.

You’re a very versatile player, Geoff: from classical and flamenco guitar to heavy blues-rock guitar! Liked very much your gritty and captivating rendition of the first part and even more your own original second part, very creative and musical as always!
I think this piece is one of the most challenging in the Brian’s blues-rock catalogue and you did a great job!Guido
