Here’s my take for this lesson. I added my own solo to the second half.
My main takeaway from this lesson is that lick at 0:39, definitely stealing. Also that chord change to the dm chord is so tasty I tried to emphasize it when improvising. I struggled to make playing over those f7 & e7 chords sound good, but hopefully its a pass.

Well, tasty is the word for the whole piece Nick, A beautiful and relaxed blues played with a cool soft tone, it would be mighty difficult to play it any better…….. thanks.

It’s more than a pass Nick. Nice playing!

This is excellent work Nick not least your own improvs on this – I would say those are as good as what Brian came up with.
I also liked the effect you put in your guitar. Was that some kind of flanger effect you were using on this?

Thanks Geoff. Yep, I added some chorus and a bit of reverb as I felt it help sit the guitar in the mix a bit nicer.

Richard stole the word I had for this, TASTY! Nice and smooth throughout Nick. Was that all fingers or hybrid? The tele sounds perfect for this.

Thanks Mike! This was all plectrum. In my opinion, nothing beats that slightly hollow twang you get from that neck pickup on a tele 🙂

Wonderful soft touch, Nick. Loved your phrasing and choices in the second half. You picked a great lesson to show some of your skills.
I really like to observe technique, so a more direct frontal view of both hands is something I love to see.

Thanks John, I appreciate your comment. I’m trying to focus a lot lately on staying relaxed and light on the strings, and being more dynamic

One of my favourites of Brian’s fairly recent lessons Nick. Nice tone dialled in on your Tele and phrasing and bends are on the money. Cool extra cycle too. 👏👏🌟👏👏 Thanks for sharing. All the best! 😎🎸😎
