This is the primitive effort, just recorded from my Go Pro camera. I’ll be redoing this one with better sound – a few spots especially near the end that I want to get better. New computer soon and better background and sound, but it’s good to get the lesson up anyway.

You are playing that nice lesson like an A student, Chuck! 👍 Very precise and with control. Very well done! I also like the tone and background😃.

Thank you Denise, I’ve gotten that last part which is the hardest part for me before so I’ll redo. This reminds me a lot of karaoke online and all the takes I used to do to try and get it right, lol. I’ll definitely be reworking this one, and I really appreciate your comment.

Hey Chuck, you are one hard-working student, I gotta say! And it pays off, really. Very smooth playing, i enjoy that.
The sound quality, by the way, is not bad at all!

Thank you Tremelow, that’s good to know although I’ll find a way to use the Zoom R8 to redo soon. I try to stay precise if I can, it’s been a good education so far. Appreciate you chiming in.

Very solid playing Chuck! The Go Pro does a very nice job of video and the audio is pretty decent too.

Thanks Joe, it’s not too bad but I’ll be looking for another solution that will give me more effects on the guitar. Thanks for your comment.

That sounds excellent Chuck and I certainly could not have played this better myself. I am not familiar with this lesson but there were some pretty lengthy melody runs in there and you played them like a champ. I can always tell people who play well because they make difficult stuff look easy as you have done here 👍

Thanks Geoff, appreciate your comment. I’ve been playing on and off for a long time, and it’s good to learn new things, just what I needed to get out of a rut. By the way, I just ordered an Orangewood Juniper guitar. It’s a small guitar that is muted with a rubber bridge, but comes with a pickup and the sound plugged in is really good. I thought I’d mention it to you since you play classical guitar, it has that kind of sound.

Hi Chuck, I could not help listening a second time with headphones this time – sounds so much better that way.
I do not know anything about Orangewood Juniper guitars so I googled it and it looks to me like a steel string guitar. Not sure what the point of muting with a rubber bridge is – maybe to give it softer less steely tone ? If that is right, why not just go with a proper classical guitar ?
Sorry, I am just being provocative. I am sure it is a great guitar. My bias is for Classical and Flamenco guitars because I have always played them and I love them. With gut strings you have a tone palette that just cannot be got out of any other type of guitar in my opinion.

Yes, sure I get it and classical guitars are a thing of beauty, I wish I had gotten into that kind of playing and you do it so well for sure. If you played this guitar I mentioned without plugging it in it really doesn’t sound good, there is no resonance or usual steel string sound at all, just muted strings. But when it’s plugged in with delay or reverb, it almost sounds somewhere between a harp and classical guitar. It has such a different sound that I see it could be an inspiration for new compositions. It’s small and easy to hold and came perfectly set up. I can see sitting out on my porch and just experimenting with different sounds. I’ll post something when I can use it in my own music. Keep playing that classical guitar, you’ve got great patience and dedication. I’m blown away by the technical stuff you do on it with nice feel.

Well played Chuck. Very precise playing and right with the band! Can I ask what kind of guitar you’re playing? All the best! 😎🎸😎

Thank you Garry, that’s a Gretsch G5222. It was not real expensive and was a special edition that I bought on Amazon. It does fine and is easy to play, I like the Mint Green color.
