Hello my dearest AMers ♥️ 💖
I’m very proud of my brother for many reasons but two of them are relevant here:first of all ,when I told him that I would like to start learning the acoustic guitar ,,he willingly searched and got me a Japanese one,Takamine, ideal for beginners and easy to play🤩🤩Secondly, when I learned EP 501,I asked him to accompany me (as we had done in another mini lesson )and his playing and improvising are simply magical!!! (And of course he did all the arrangements 😉😉)
I hope you will enjoy the outcome 😊

Nothing “mini” about that Helen.
That’s a massive sound you’re getting out of that Takamine and your playing on the lesson is great.
Your brother is a true maestro on that Bazouki and I bet he ain’t too shabby on the guitar either.

These are among my favorite AM posts. I am a big fan of your collaborations with Mike. You both are so very emotional and expressive in your playing. The new Takamine sounds so wonderful under your capable fingers, and I’ve never heard the bouzouki played as well as Mike handles it. What a treat! Thank you for sharing this.

Awesome as usual, Helen! My favorite professional looper – Hvetter – has used a Takamine for his looping performances for years, and he could have any guitar he wants. Check it out:

And BTW, I think you guys should try one of Brian’s bluegrass lessons. After all, isn’t the bouzouki actually the original mandolin? To me it just sounds like a mandolin on steroids. And the guitar fingerpicking isn’t too difficult, at least the way Brian preents it.

Excellent acoustic picking and wonderfully sensitive Bouzuki accompaniment. By the way, I love Greek music and instruments very much. For example, I’m currently working on a piano piece by the great master Theodorakis.

How I enjoyed the first part and the playing full of feel of you both, Helen and Mike. You also achieved a great sound from your acoustic instruments.
But how I celebrated the second part, where you both make a greek feast out of Brians’s wonderful lesson. I enjoyed it so much, it was like a little greek trip for me.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will probably take place in July/August 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.

Wow, Helen that duet was straight out of the ‘top drawer’ as we would say. Loved the tone from your new Takamine, it sounded so vibrant, I hope we now hear more from you on acoustic.🫰
