Hello my dearest AMers ♥️
Those of you who know me,must be wondering how it’s possible I didn’t learn this lesson before, right??🤣🤣🤣Well, the answer is simple:when Brian posted it, I had already put up here so many slow minor blues that I really tried to resist playing this fabulous piece❤️❤️and I remember how much it appealed to all of you!!!So here it is and my improvising starts at 1.12!I hope you’ll enjoy it!!!

In my opinion these kind of slow minor blues can never be enough, specially when it‘s played with so much devotion and so much feel as you do it, Helen. I love it. ( could have been a little longer😉). Your impro is really awesome. For me you are the queen of the slow minor blues.
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be on May 31, 2025For more information click here
I look forward to meet you.

A masterful, soulful rendition. Impressive technique and tone. Terrific bends and much evident emotion throughout. Well done, as always, Helen.

One of the best Brian’s lessons (among many others)! I also chose this one for a showcase some months ago and I can say your rendition is really beautiful, played not only with a great technique but also with great passion!
Loved very much your own improvisation on the second cycle, very soulful and original! It integrates seamlessly in the composition but at the same time has its own very distinctive flavour! Great rendition, Helen!Guido

That’s a well-chosen evocative melody Helen and you played it with bags of emotion to express it. Your careful phrasing helped make this piece very special.

Stunningly beautiful, Helen! You played that perfectly with lots of feel and emotion which transferred to the music so well. Your added verse was my favorite part, wow – so good! Bravo! 👌👌👌👌👌

Hey Helen, this is an excellent piece of work from you. People are generally impressed by flash and speed forgetting how hard it is to play with beautiful soul and expression the way you did here. Like David says, your bends were terrific and you should be proud of your improvs because they were just so seamlessly integrated with the rest of this.
Have you considered using your voice with stuff like this ? It would be sooo good to hear that 🙂
You just keep doing what you are doing OK.

So much of this comes from your warm soul…. your bend nicely into the target note at 0:32…. really well done. Played warmly with affection and fidelity. Well done Helen. Kind of a nice thing to which to listen during the afternoon while at work. It takes the ‘edge’ off. Thanks for sharing, as always. Fun, worthwhile and entertaining.

Helen,
These slow soulful blues tunes are as hard to play as the blazing fast ones. Trying to wait and then attack at the precise moment is no easy task. Helen you have done a masterful job here in both tone and timing. Loved the improv, held up well with Brians original licks. Just a delight to listen to you play this.

The Queen of the Slow Blues! 👸🎸👸 The two major take always for me here Helen is your ability to bend to pitch … oh so sweet! 👏👏🌟👏👏 And your additional cycle, so lyrical and fit perfectly coming after Brian’s original cycle. Excellent and you’ve reminded me of this great piece. I too, for the same reason have left this one but it might be time … Great performance all round. Keep on pickin’ and all the best! 🥸🎸🥸
