Dude this is so good! I hope I can get to this level with practice. Like I would play this in the background at a party.

John, I think that’s the best I’ve heard from you. Such nice subtle shadings of tone, and tremendous variety, all in keeping with the feel of the track. I actually like your tone on this better than Brian’s. I assume you were using the Strat. Also, I had to go back to look to see what was your original and what was the lesson. Your second chorus fit so well that it could easily have been part of the lesson. Third chorus was almost as good, but it was a release of building tension, by going to a lower register, so that gave away that it was yours. Fantastic all around. Bends and vibrato both stellar as usual, but there was a looseness in this playing that was delightful to hear.

Holy Smokes John! That was the best one yet! Your vibrato, tone, and bends are just heavenly to listen to. This is seriously impressive! Great job on this man!

Hi John, I have enjoyed it.
In addition to the great and clearly defined sound, your guitar playing was a pleasure! Versatile in every detail.
Your improvisation shows that you master the task. Just fit everything. I liked it extremely.

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

I am well impressed with the over all quality of your playing, though that’s not for the first time. Streets ahead in your playing and style that some of us can only aspire to..
                  loving your work John.

John, that prolonged bend in the beginning of the first solo was an absolute thing of beauty. The rest of it wasn’t too shabby, either!

Sweet!! You got those bends perfect. All the licks and improvs were super. Fantastic clarity (definition) on the individual notes!! Played with power, authority, and confidence. That was an excellent sound (and settings) on the guitar. Which guitar was that? After EP184 came out I knew this was one you could do in your sleep (especially after EP183). That’s two in a row at masterclass level.

                                John,

Great as usual! I know that when you post any of your playing it’s going to be awesome – this was no exception.

You need to put all your guitar postings on a CD and then you’ll have that to amaze your friends – hey, you can give them out as gifts at birthdays and Christmas. Or, we can have Bryce create a special section on the AM site labeled Member’s Music Compilations and then the music can be streamed to a device.
                                Great stuff!

That was just incredible.. Your tone/sound is great. I must say, the way your notes are played so clear, your bends and vibratos are, as others have stared ” Your Sound”. I feel that If I heard this recording without knowing it was you playing, I would say That’s john..

I have not been to active on the forum for a while do to other activities.. Just started to get back into it after the holidays, and I must say. I feel I’m losing ground with you guys.. I listened Wilfried’s post yesterday, (Beautiful Acoustic piece Wilfried), Bryce’s live recordings and now yours. It’s amazing how much all have progressed. I just want to get my guitar out and get back to my Active Melody lessons..

                                    Great playing John,

That’s great, you’re really getting into it—no surprise at this point. You’ve made a lot of progress in the year and some months that I’ve been listening, from playing with a more tentative feeling to what sounds like just letting go.

Tasty licks and nice phrasing in that piece. Very nicely done. The technical aspects such as recording and tone were outstanding as well. Very nicely done.

Would make for a nice Christmas present with a very personal touch. You still have about 12 months to put it together, certainly more time than you need.
