Here’s my EP 131 challenge response coming in at 1:31s….strange but true. I previously posted a Soundcloud version of Can’t Find My Way Home using EP 131 licks but here’s a video version. Hope you enjoy.

Another drop D’er! That makes three I’ve noticed so far. Very well executed, you were relaxed and handled the piece with ease, John. This is my first time participating and it’s fun to hear others play the same piece you’ve been working on because you notice the small things – I really liked how you went to the low open D string at the end of the third lick (in your first rendition). That set a really full and rich tone for the piece.

Also, congrats on having it be 1:31, quite the accomplishment. If Bryce goes back to an older one, say EP004 or something, you’re going to have to really speed up the tempo to keep the streak alive. Might be tough. 🙂

Smooth as can be, John. Absolutely brilliant. I have to admit I was kind of waiting for a mistake to happen. Not because I wanted that, but because I thought it’s nearly impossible to keep that tempo without hitting a wrong note here and there. Boy, was I wrong! Not even a fret buzz!!! Also cool to tune the E-string down to D (first time for me to see it). Respect!

Hey John great posts and glad to see Charo Unplugged with a viewing of your acoustic beauties!
Both pieces sounded fantastic and you have real musical skills and also showcased some dexterity on that fretboard; great, great, great. I’m picking up great tips on every post this month and can’t believe the skill levels of AM members; we must have a quite proficient teacher and mentor
Now keep of soundcloud as we do like to see your music room and guitars, think of your viewers lol!
                  Cheers Bri

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Part 1. You knocked this out of the park! The playing was fantastic (including that original Introduction) and the tones on that guitar are awesome. I dub this guitar the Enforcer. (And the video quality wasn’t shabby either.)

Part 2. Fantastic as well!!! I could hear Steve Winwood singing in the background. I remember buying this album when it came out. Funny how this song by Brian reminded you of Can’t Find My Way Home, and me of Bluebird.

                            Very professional, like Marty said.

Great playing John! EP131 is solid, I don’t believe I ever saw your Can’t find my way Home? Perhaps before my time here? Like Larry I kept anticipating vocals to break in.
                              Both very nicely done.

Nicely done John. Clean and expressive, as usual. I liked your intfo a lot, especially the last rake up on the D minor chord. I am not a fan of the major ending. This was done a lot in Baroque and Classical music, ending a minor key song with the tonic major, and it always sounds corny to me.

Tone of your guitar is sweet. It’s a Taylor?

It’s interesting to see some folks linking this to Midnight Rider and now Can’t Find My Way Home. I’m sure it was inspired by both as I love both of those songs. Thanks for sharing – this was great!

Not amped, just played from the guitar’s electronics directly into the software with a little reverb and compression. Although I did try both guitars through the THR10C and they sounded pretty good.
