In honour of Freddie Mercury’s birthday (Sept 5, 1946) here’s “Bijou”, one of his last recordings, from album Innuendo.
Recorded with PRS Baritone, Axe-FX, Garageband, iMovie. -

My apologies. I always thought you were a great player and musician but I think I underestimated you.
Your last two submissions have shown such great emotion and feel; it makes me wonder if I just wasn’t paying close enough attention before! Spectacular.
Can you talk a little bit about how Brian May plays, regarding scales, modes etc.?
I would like to work on his playing for a bit.
And happy birthday to the memory of Freddy, an incredible talent who lived just a few years too soon. -

Beautifully played with great feeling. Loved the mellow sound of your fingerstyle playing, great bending and vibrato, creative use of the volume control, and the wonderful sound of the baritone guiutar. Great work Roger.

Awesome playing. You really captured the mood and feel of that tune with your playing. Great tribute to Freddie Mercury.

Hi Roger, that was a beautiful rendition you shared with us. Your playing goes from strength to strength with each submission you do and that man is a bonus for us here listening.
Wonderful stuff man and I for one can’t wait to hear you play more...Billy..

Interpreted very nicely; you accompanied this devotional melody beautifully with your guitar. I enjoyed it a lot. Great class!
WilfriedPlay guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Roger,
Wow! A beautiful haunting melody and a great tribute to Freddy. You had just the right finger touch on each of the notes and the bends were spot on. The tone was dialed in just right so it all came together beautifully.

That’s a true masterpiece, Moose. I’ve never played a baritone guitar before, but I’m guessing those strings are heavier than standard guitar strings, therefore harder to bend and do other tricks. But worth it, because the sound is awesome.

Right, string gauge is 14-68, definitely tougher to bend. But the longer neck helps, plus I tune everything down a semi-tone so they’re more bendable.
But worth it, because the sound is awesome.
The thicker strings add more tone and sustain, and if I get to the right place at the top of the bend I can catch a little feedback, which is cool.
Plus it’s easier to get a good grip on them, and don’t have to worry about breaking strings.
A real bonus is how easy to bend when i go back to my the other axes with regular 9s

I would like to work on his playing for a bit.check out the Brian May Star Licks video posted by Billy. At 16:55 he demonstrates his famous Bohemian Rhapsody solo. 90 second master class on playing like Brian May.

I just finished going through the tab for the Bohemian Rhapsody solo, when I saw your post.
Not a lot of technical difficulty, but his phrasing, bending, vibrato, and controlling the gain is a challenge to replicate. Some of his runs are pretty fast as well.
The solo isn’t very long so I will stick with it for awhile. Thanks for posting. I always wanted to be able to play this.
