I just pulled the trigger on my first two effect boxes – Boss Blues Driver and Boss RC1 Loop station. Please tell me they are great 🙂

I bought a Boss BD-2 used a couple of months back, Trying to set it to what I wanted to hear coming from my guitar was a bit of a challenge, A good piece of kit and highly regarded in the guitaring world as a must have. I don’t as yet have a looper.

HI Vojtech
The BD2 was the first pedal I bought when I got back into playing, it is a great pedal for low gain blues and a great volume booster…..the looper has a great reputation, never owned one. I sold the BD2 to buy a tube screamer and OCD, as I learned the sounds I enjoy, I needed something with more bite, no other reason.
Enjoy them..Roberto

I have a BD2 and it is has been my OD pedal at the jam until this past weekend. I just bought an MXR Double Double Overdrive. It is like having a Ibanez Tubescreamer (TS9) and OCD in one pedal. It is great!
But to answer your questions yes those are both good pedals.

Vojtech,
I have a BD2 Wazawa and an RC1. Both are indeed excellent pedals as far as I am concerned. Most of my playing is into headphones so I have not got the problem about sound level. I use it into THR10C which I believe you may have and drive my Strat mainly through the acoustic setting with about a third on each tone control and level to suit. On the lesson 183 I got a comment from Duffy along the lines the ‘tone sounds like it came straight out of a Chicago barroom’ So I was very happy with that, for me that is the total goal. The RC1 has the advantage of being a simple looper to use and that is all I need at this stage in my learning. It works very well and is easy to use. So I reckon youve just bought yourself some great kit. I am sure you will enjoy using it. JohnStrat

Tell me your impression of the BD2 after you’ve played a bit with it!
I’m waiting for one to pop up in a Buy/Sell group on Facebook that I’m a member of! Been ready to pounce on that pedal for a while now!I had this intention on going completely digital regarding effects, but as soon as you get locked into a serious pedal collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can! 😉

I do have a nice multieffect with looper, but I’ve always gave up because the buttons are so small and I don’t want to stop when playing, I just want to just stomp and go. And also from what I gathered, resale value of these pedals is great.

So, first night spent with both and it’s awesome. Blues driver is quite versatile and I can get whole new category of sounds from the THR10C and still get cool sounds without it.
The looper is easy to get used to, just stomp and go. It’s been a while since I last played and I was a little rusty, so no recording for you – will come later. I feel I have a perfect portable fun pack now, the effects fit nicely into the thr bag or guitar case and with few spare batteries i can go all night.

Boss BD-2 is absolute a must have pedal. The knobs allows me to be very precise on the sound level. The gain is just sweet and you can get a very nice overdriven bluesy sound and if needed attenuate it over the volume.
If I am given to pick up just two pedals for a good sound: I’ll just take one over dirve pedal (certainly BD-2) and a delay pedal (I would go for the TC-electronic Flashback delay).
