Question in the beginners blue scales lick #3 Brian ends the lick on a A note ,why not end it on a G note 5th fret 4th string . I don’t know to me it sounds like its finishing better
Make it your own Roger. Thing of Brian’s lessons as just a catalyst to your own creativity. If it sounds better to you to end on a G go for it.

I haven’t looked to what the original piece was, but heard a guy who plays lead for John Mayall talking about the root note and ending on it to insure a certain stability with a lick.
If this is in A, then that may make sense. I don’t know.
But the fun thing about playing lead is…..it’s your little world, as Bob Ross was apt to say.
So play the G.
