I’ve been doing the coarse and working through the licks my question is. Should I be using the backing track to to practice playing the licks to your speed ? Or should I just practice randomly playing them in different positions on the fret board

My advice is to work with them on the jam tracks. If you use all three jam tracks provided you will also be working on them in different keys since all of the jam tracks are in different keys.

Steve – if you find a jam track is a bit fast when you are practice playing a lick – you can slow it down to a speed you’re comfortable with using VLC media player. VLC is a free, open source download and works like a dream.
