Good discussion and some examples of some great blues playing.
I’ve enjoyed seeing clips of Austin John in Nashville the past couple years and his band the HiJivers.

Interesting indeed. That’s the kind of music I remember hearing when I was a little kid growing up in Florida.

I have this picture as my desktop display.

Not a fan of John Petrucci or Dream Theater but I have that as a reminder that if I want it, I have to work for it. No other way to achieve it

Many years ago, I heard the pastor of a church share a sermon titled “How Bad Is Your Want To???”. The whole premise of what he was saying was anything in life that you want to accomplish will take work
How bad do you want to play guitar? If you’re serious enough, you will work to achieve it.

I’ve read that it would be rare to see Duane Allman, SRV, EVH, Robert Cray, etc etc without a guitar in their hands. I had to laugh – one story was that Duane Allman would sit in his room as a kid – barefoot – and use his big toe to pick up the tone arm of the record player to move it back & forth as he was learning songs & licks….

I can certainly relate to some of that, when I was striving to get better at playing guitar, I would often arrive home after playing at a gig and then practice until 2-3:00am. Unplugged of course.
Interestingly my guitar heroes at the time were Cliff Gallup and Scottie Moore.
