Home › Forums › Guitar Techniques and General Discussions › BEGINNERS, How To REALLY Set The Tone On Your Amp By Scott Grove
Came across this video and thought I’d post it since there was a recent question on how to set an amp for a good blues tone. This video is nearly an hour and a half long, I haven’t listen to all of it yet, but I do know that Scott Grove provides good info in his other videos.
Both of his guitars are amazing. He does go into detail about tone. I once owned a Park (Korean made amp). I was told it was license by Marshall but used the Park name. The tone from that was so good and at a $70 amp, I’d have to agree, tone (sound) coming from an amp, is the first thing we notice, is it good or is it sh.. For electric guitars, it’s the pickups that most people will notice the importance of quality tone when using a very cheap amp (which these days are hard to find. These days the pickups coming out of China are just as good as any out there. Whether you are buying that $49 guitar or that $200 guitar coming from China, the pickups are solid and sound really good on any good amp. Anyway the video was interesting to watch. I recently heard he is not in the best of health these days. Nice guy he is.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Great information in that video.I’ve been doing what he says for a while now.
Makes a world of difference on how all my guitars sound.
Thanks for this link Keith (Bluezhawk).
This is the best lesson I have seen on the subject.
