Hi Folks. I hear folks here doing solo’s etc.. with rhythm backing tracks. Hope I’m saying this correct.Where do you get those from?
Thank you,

I guess different people get them from different places, but as for me, my main source of backing tracks are the ones Brian has created for the different lessons. I think there must be over 450 backing tracks, and you can download them all for free. I do have maybe a dozen or so backing tracks by Quist which I just downloaded from Youtube. But I never actually “buy” any backing tracks. Then I have one other source: I make a lot of my own backing tracks. Anyone with a DAW can do it. Easy peazy. I made one for this March challenge which just has 3 drum tracks running at once.

Hi Marty,
I’ve collected many over several years. Sometimes they are offered for free with links from YouTube guitar teachers. I’ve gotten many from courses, guitar websites or patreon pages I’ve belonged to. Sometimes I get them from other AM members or friends. There are some mp4 to mp3 converters that can rip a backing track off a YouTube video but they don’t all seem to work. You can certainly purchase quality backing tracks from Quist and others, there are usually links in their YouTube posts. Brian really has enough to keep you busy and they’re all downloadable.

Search for “backing tracks” on YouTube.

Google backing tracks. There are numerous sources for those in every genre. Some are free. I have even downloaded free backing tracks for karaoke and used software to remove the lead guitar. The software I use is pay per song and seems to work really well. I found that on Google as well. The wonders of modern technology. Converting Mp4 to Mp3 or to Wav is easy to fit your needs. For example, my looper pedal will only use Wav format but if I’m playing to a backing track on my computer it’s usually an Mp3.
