Hello my friends!
I just discovered my challenge response to the “only two chords”- challenge we had in August 2021. My hair was still black then 🙄 – a lot has changed, but my guitar skills did not really improve. However, this challenge response took me a lot less time. 😊
I made an impromptu backing track – looping style – and then improvised a lead over it. This is version 25 of my lead playing (I did a total of 30 takes). Not too bad, I used to do a lot more. I am not sure, however, if the backing track and my lead playing are really matching … Anyway, I was inspired by a song called “I’ll take you there”, which is comprised only of the two chords C and F.The pictures were taken on the first part of your vacation this year – they mainly show the mountains of the Karwendel region in Austria.
Have yourself a nice AM weekend. I already watched some of your performances on YouTube and was very impressed.
Cheers,
Juxi.Bluesige Grüße

Hi Juxi, really nice vibe on this one. I liked the mix of lead over the track. The track seemed an odd meter to my ear…. like 7/4 time. Tricky counting this one. It all came together though and was a fun listen.

You make up for lack of chords with all your instruments! 😉 lovely peppy groove and some punchy and melodic lead playing. Nice work!

Yep, sounds like 7/4 time to me also. I’ve never tried that, but now I might. Maybe I should re-listen to the great Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” album to get the vibe. Nice licks and well played, Juxi. Cool photos also. We have similar places in New Zealand, and we had a great ski season this year.

Your music takes me on a morning walk in the beautiful mountains. I think you’ve expressed that wonderfully on the guitar again. Great ideas, and the bass fits very well. Bravo!!!
Da sollte ich mal Urlaub machen. Viele Grüße
Thank you, Werner

The bouncy bass and the chord stabs add a nice rhythm for your leads. I liked the ‘feel good’ vibe you created. Visuals are beautiful as well!

I’ve got to buy me a bass. It really makes the music roll.
The mountain photos were a good choice for this melody. I could visualize each lead riff sort of bouncing back as little triads from the PRS electric. Really clever, but I think it would have been just as good after 29 takes.

So lively Juxi, a beautiful open melody just fitting for that gorgeous alpine scenery.

Well done, Juxi. Your multi instrument arrangement is a hit. Love the visuals of Austria. With all the editing and syncing you had to do to make this production I can imagine it could take some time to get it right.
