I just wanted to share this, I am learning a song bit by bit and this afternoon I picked up the guitar and started to play the intro which is the bit I am learning and I started playing almost without conscience, it was the weirdest feeling in the world, I thought afterwards wow……where did that come from lol
is this what they call muscle memory?
Neil.

Yep, muscle memory and the song is committed to your subconscious. It is interesting when this starts to happen and keep in mind, it just keeps getting better.
Another thing that will happen at some point is that you will hear a run, a song, a lick – whatever the case – and you will have a mental image of the how it is accomplished. Even without your guitar in hand, you will picture the scale pattern/position and when you try it, you will find that you will be able to play the phrase with minimal effort
Good job Neil, keep it up!
Thanks for the encouragement Keith 🙂
I just bought a vox ac30 headphone amp so hopefully I will enjoy practice in the garden by myself during the summer evenings.
Neil.
