Still getting the hang of the Forum thing.
My limiting factor is playing guitar in open G tuning with my 👀 closed for fun. First YouTube video uploaded to AM

Hi Stacey, welcome to the challenges! Very nice sounding song in open G-tuning. I never tried that tuning myself, but now I am curious what I would or could do with it.

Welcome to the challenges Stacey. First of many I hope as I really enjoyed listening to you Blind G blues. I once heard Mary Spender talking about playing in a dark room to break the “must look” habit but just shutting your eyes seems much more convenient. You seem to have mastered it too.

OK just tried playing with eyes shut – not too bad then it all went to pieces! Well done and welcome to the challenges!

Very nice Stacey, not easy without looking the neck.
Excellent composition.
You might want to change your camera angle, we can’t barely see the neck or half of it I should say.
Well done and welcome aboard AM challenge.AndréM

Good debut Stacey – totally original idea, but I bet a lot of us try it. Look forward to hearing more.

What a great debut, Stacey! Loved the resonator sound in open tuning and your fretboard mastery is evident since you could play it flawlessly with your eyes shut. That alone was a brilliant idea! Do you play slide as well? I’d love to hear it.
Welcome to the challenges, looking forward to see more of your playing 🙂

Nice one, Stacy. You’ve reminded us of a great skill we all need to practice: Playing without looking at your fretboard. There are some Youtube videos out on how to improve this skill. I find that I can do it if I work on it a while, but if I’m just sitting and playing a lot while looking at my fretboard, I lose the skill.

Welcome to the challenges Stacey. That is impressive to play with your eyes shut, whatever key. Nice resonator and great debut. I hope Brian doesn’t use this idea for a future challenge.
My limit would be hammer on/pull off using just the E chord. -

Lovely composition-fluid and purposeful. What a beautiful sound you are pulling out of your resonator guitar. Congrats on your first submission. Hoping to hear many more!’John

Hi Stacey, welcome to AM and the challenges. Glad you’re here! Nice picking on this one. I’ve worked at playing with my eyes closed… sometimes it goes well, sometimes not, but I think it’s an important skill to practice and can really hone your left hand. I enjoyed listening!

Hi Stacey and welcome to the challenges,
Nice picking in open G on the resonator and playing with your eyes shut is a hard limitation to set , but you pulled it off with impressive fretboard navigation .Martin
