Hey All!
Really fun challenge this month! I’m playing over the Grateful Dead style backing track for EP196. Mostly using major pentatonics, but throwing in some minor pentatonic notes to spice things up here and there.
Take Care!

Hi Richard:
You haven’t had many posts but I’ve come to love your playing. It reflects great guitar technique, a great ear for note choice, and amazing musicality. Rock on.

Sounding really pro there, Richard. Jerry Garcia would have enjoyed listening to you. I think you are the only person who dared to choose EP196, and it worked great.

It was nice to hear you happy tones between all that blues, Richard. You created some uplifting music and you play it with the easiness, that let the tones flow through the air. A fun to listen to.

Hi Carlo! I play through a Line 6 Helix, which has a built in audio interface and plugs straight into my computer via USB for recording. I record by first dragging the backing track into GarageBand and then I have a separate track in GB for my guitar. I really love the Helix, great product. I usually use a pretty simple preset based around a Fender Princeton amp sim with just a bit of reverb and delay.

Really great Richard! Something tells me this isn’t the first time you’ve done this exercise. You captured that jam-band feel really well with some nice licks and lots of expression.

Sounds good and you play your runs professionally. The sound also suits the track very well.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
