Here’s the April Challenge – use a jam track and mix major and minor pentatonic licks. I used EP435, a tribute to BB, called ‘the BB King Zone!’
I kept this down to a few choruses for the sake of time in the Challenge, but I did keep recording for the whole 5+ minutes, which I’ll put up soon. In that one, I added in some licks from one of the Blues Brothers, the late great Matt Guitar Murphy. So check that one out too.
I start with an old timey BB King jump style intro chorus from Damian Bacci, and it fits right in with Brian’s track.
Hope you like it – here we go . . .

Such a cool intro, Bruce. Looking forward to the full version. You need to face that guitar toward me so I can steal some of those licks.

Thanks for the comments!
John, I didn’t notice the camera placement, should have been lower. This was real last minute, done on Saturday, but I managed to get something up there.
Bobby Ut, we missed Austin, but the more we thought about it, I think we agreed that we missed Austin by about 25 years. Could have gone, but didn’t. More about Austin, home of Antoine’s, in the next video.Just focus on the notes you DID get right . . . Frank Vignola

Fantastic stuff, Bruce! I’m sure that would put a big smile on BB’s face, you knocked this one out of the park! The intro was so cool, what a timing! 😲 If you were able to keep going like this for 5-6 minutes, you should get a real gig and make money playing like that! 😉

Bruce
Well done!
You had a lot of BB King nuances going, right down to the big slide to hit the high note and back to the lead. Some really great blues. I enjoyed it 🎶💯Don P

Well played Bruce. I really liked the swinging style. Thumbs up.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
