Have any of you AM members signed up on the Soundslice web site? If so, what kind of interesting tabs have you been finding?
Right now I’m on an obsessive-compulsive binge study of neo soul (which is why I opted out on the last challenge), and I figured a good starting point would be to first learn some old soul. I’m starting with Rainy Night in Georgia, focusing on the great Cornell Dupree’s guitar licks. I found this cool free tab on Soundslice:
https://www.soundslice.com/slices/ffffc/
And that led me to go ahead and sign up with Soundslice so I could preview what other neo soul stuff they have. Some of their tabs are free, but most cost a little. Like $5 for a single song, and $25 – $45 for a collection of songs. That seems fair. And as a member, I could use the Soundslice editor to create some of my own tabs, but I doubt that I’ll ever be motivated enough to do that, since I’m not a career musician.

That’s a beautiful guitar work on this Rainy Night in Georgia song! Good find, Steve.
I use the web-based Soundslice quite a bit, usually to learn songs outside of Brian’s lessons, but I just use the free version. For tab editing I use a paid version of Guitar Pro 7 which I can then upload to Soundslice and sync with the original performance (a YouTube link) which gives me the same learning experience as Active Melody lessons. Occasionally, I also browse the available free tabs and sometimes find a gem or two, just like the one you did here. I think an interactive tablature is the best thing that was invented for guitar students!

Think I signed up a good few years back to soundslice, other than an initial check out I didn’t use it again.

You picked a great Tony Joe White song to start with Steve!!Cornell Dupree’s version is great! The youtube version of Dupree with John Castellano singing is just a great sound!! Been practicing this version for some time now!!

I signed up for a few years and never quite turned the corner with the tab editor thing but it is a great learning tool. Just not enough time in the day to get the full benefit. There is a treasure trove of tabs in the library. Thanks for reminding me Steve.
