This is the same model guitar I have. I absolutely love it. I paid $300 dollars for it tax included and with the original case and paperwork. I got home and went on Google and the first thing that came up was a picture of Paul McCartney playing one. I figured I had done good!
I used to have a DY-52, but sold it to buy my Martin D-35, another fine guitar.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h81NB7_5lQ4

Sweet guitar for sure.
I have 3 Alvarez now, one is a model from the 70s that I’ve given to my son when he wants to claim it. I have an AG70 that had some damage to it but plays pretty sweet right now and the 3rd one is a 25th Anniversary Model that is a Slope D body. It is stamped Handcrafted and its easy to see that it has better wood in it.
I have about $85 in it, bought it with the headstock broken off. It was a simple fix and I have to say that its the best acoustic that I’ve ever owned. Beautiful tone
I am planning to buy an acoustic later this year that is equipped with a pickup/preamp system. I’ve decided to get a Yamaha AC3R but after seeing the used Yairi that was at GC in Cincinnati, if I run across another one of those before I buy the Yamaha, it will be mine.
Alvarez makes some decent guitars in the $400-$600 range but there is just something about an Alvarez Yairi that sets them apart. I’ve tried several Taylor model and Martin and they are great, but the Alvarez Yairi has a sweet tone to it that – as I said – sets it apart……

Keith, Don’t you hate when people do this? The first one almost looks like Brazilian. Maybe he doesn’t know what he’s got???
I like this one.
And out of our league…
