I started this off with a simple D, Am, C, G chord progression then started noodling around using only thirds. I sort of stumbled upon this little melody that sounded pleasing, so I went with it,
The birds are the product of my high-tech backyard feeder. I liked the rhyme of thirds with birds, so I went with that, too,
I am currently on a ship off the coast of Kirkenes, Norway where the band width is not great, so it may take me a while to review other folks’ work, but I will keep at it,

That is a really beautiful, hypnotic composition you’ve come up with there, Paul – thoroughly enjoyed that 👏👏
I came across Cardinal birds for the first time whilst staying with friends in Ohio. I saw the flash of red, dart across in front of me; it was too quick to really see what it was at first, but our friends told us it was very common, and the State Bird. Shortly afterwards, a whole flock came onto the feeder just in front of us – they were quite tame, and their vivid colour was something to behold!
Best wishes – Mark 👍🎶😎

Nice sound Paul, very relaxing. The progression reminds me of something a 70s songwriter like Joni or James Taylor would use, in other words beautiful and complex.
Assuming you are on some sort of cruise, where the band width may not be good, but I hope the band is 🙂-

Hi Paul , love the title, you got some beautiful birds in your neck of the woods .
That was a very pleasing melody you came up with , I also could hear some James Taylor in your playing. Very soulful and melodic you make good use of the thirds .
Happy cruising.Martin

Paul, your submission reminded me of a Beatles Tune not sure which one but I guess its not that important. That was super creative, out of the BG realm and….your name is Paul:). Well done and well played. Have fun on that cruise. I want to cycle Norway….its on the bucket list. Cheers. Pap

Since I had a guitar nearby, I grabbed it and started noodling the D Am C G progression before I even heard your playing and then once you started it was fun to play along. You’re right, Paul, it is a simple and yet nice sounding chord progression somewhat reminiscent of a number of songs… Your triads and arpeggios sounded so nice and melodic, really enjoyable, a nice mix of birds and 3rds ! 😉
And what a cute birdie that was! I would get myself a high tech bird feeder like that too but we already have a neighbor with bird feeders and plenty of uninvited winged guests pooping around our pool, so maybe that’s not a good idea…. 😆
