Hi All… I am posting this a second time because Lights reported that he couldn’t see my initial post video, which seems to have vanished,

This is a melody built on couplets of thirds over this chord progression: D, Am, C, G, D C, G.
I recorded the chords and then noodled around to find this little melody.

The birds are a product of my high-tech backyard bird feeder. Birds rhymes with “thirds,” so I couldn’t help myself,

Bravo, Paul! Such a sad and wistful composition, and so well-played. This one is really full of emotion. Great!

Great tune, Paul. A creative way to use thirds as your melody line throughout the piece. The backing guitar and recording mix are excellent. Loved your bird feeder camera too. “Birds and Thirds”, a most appropriate title.

Paul, wow! Really wonderful tune. I’m imagining sitting by the fire while the snow falls outside. Great chord sequence and very melodic lead. The birds on the east coast are so much more colorful than out here in the west.

The title alone is worth all the money, Paul. And I would even pay extra for the fun to listen to your wonderful music. You’ve really come up with a beautiful piece.

Very cool, Paul. And you brought out once thing that no one has mentioned so far: There’s no law that says both notes of the harmonized third have to be played simultaneously. Basically you were playing 2 note arpeggios, great concept!

Paul, whjat a lovely original sound. I liked it very much – whimsical. Well played.

Paul…just as good the second time. However, I am going to have to look into Steve’s comment above. Not sure I am tracking on what he saying about using arpeggios vs not using harmonized thirds. Pap

You not only played 3rds to a wonderful chord progression but you made some beautiful music. Impressive. Love the Cardinal Red… gorgeous bird. Looks like you been feedin’ him well.

Oh such a great haunting melody played over that sweet chord progression! I love it!!!!
The 3rds even sound much better not played simultanously. That beautiful red bird (is it called the harmonized red third bird?) has good taste in music.
                                  Very well done…and inspiring.
