Hi Folks, heres my attempt at EP145 Delta Blues Fingerstyle, Recorded today just on an Iphone 6 whilst away for the weekend in my new Motorhome with “Lovely Lisa”. I like to challenge myself with finger style to prove to myself that my missing index finger wont hold me back from progressing in my guitar playing. This is a really good lesson, thank you Brian, it has lots of elements to it and I really enjoyed the practice. I look forward to seeing all your uploads in good time, Wow, looks like there has been a great response this month!! cheers Phil

Phil, that was very very nice. I have enjoyed every second; It’s such a beautiful melody that you played great. Your fingerstyle is really good. You’ve got it under control.
Well done!Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Nicely done Phil, there are a lot of thumb and one finger pickers out there so no reason to not give these a go. Very inspirational and well played.

Phil,
That was really good. Looks like you’re all set up in the motorhome to have live music whenever you want it! Fingerstyle is a challenge for sure and in carpentry terms you ” nailed it ” !
All the best to you and Lisa.

That was some excellent fingerstyle, Phil! You put the mood of the piece across. It isn’t at all apparent from the sound of it that you weren’t using your pointer.
All the best to you and Lisa!

Thank you, Phil! This is one of my favourite lessons too. You pick a very cool place for recording. I dream to do it on the roof of my flathouse some day, but theres still not enough snow in Estonia, theres no snow at all yet.
I still didn´t record my “Lovely Lisa”,´cos my friends studio is occupied all time, but I hope to post it next month, I want her to listen it very much.

Good playing, Phil. It really had that Delta Bluesy sound. Sounds good on electric guitar, too.

Nice job on this, I love this lesson. I didn’t detect the finger holding you back at all. I did hear some really sweet and soulful quarter bends, which hit the spot. For the most part you kept the driving beat together, and if you do that you can get away with almost anything in this style.

Yeah man! that’s what I’m talking about. Sounding great Phil… I think the fact that you’re pulling that off minus the index digit makes it that much cooler. It’s quite the novelty! Great playing on this as well. Give Lisa a hug.

Great playing and what a tone! How did you set up your THR to sound like that? The recording was so clear I thought you recorded through USB until you spoke 🙂
I just love the fact that OF COURSE you have your guitar and amp with you in your motorhome. Of course you do 🙂
Love to you and Lisa

Haha Phil on location and a real lift you see you made the challenge,
Now is that a Motorhome or a new covert Mobile Studio; hey the recording quality and playing is great. I agree with others that always a treat to see people on the road and various recording locations; the guitar tone really suited this piece. Man those delta blues make you work and you done a great job.
All of the very best and good energy to both you and Lisa x
Cheers Bri
